CAREER OPPORTUNITIES FOR CAREGIVERS
- Caregiver / Direct Care Worker
This involves provision of essential, non-medical assistance and support to individuals in their own homes. Unlike medical professionals who are licensed to administer medical care, caregivers focus on helping with the activities of daily living and providing companionship and emotional support.
- Elderly Home Care
Elderly home care is designed to help older adults maintain their independence, improve their quality of life, and receive the assistance they need while remaining in a familiar environment.
As an elderly home caregiver, you’ll spend meaningful time with seniors, engaging in conversations and providing a friendly presence to combat feelings of loneliness and isolation.
- Family Caregiver
This involves provision of care and support to a family member or loved one who cannot care for themselves due to age, illness, or disability. While caring for a loved one can be challenging, it can also deepen your bond and strengthen your relationship providing a sense of fulfillment and purpose.
- Pediatric Home Caregivers and Nurses
These provide specialized care and support to children with chronic or complex medical conditions in the comfort of their own homes.
- Direct Support Professional
A direct support professional (DSP) is a caregiver who serves and assists individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities. They play a critical role in helping these individuals obtain the skills they need to lead independent and fulfilling lives.
